In the name of god Amen William Williamson of High Scutlegarth als (alias) Snitlegarth
within the p[ar]ish of Torpenhow in the County of Cumberland ye'n (yeoman) being sicke in
body but of good sound and p[er]fect memory praised be god doe make this my last will
and
testament in manner and forme following First I give and bequeath my Soule to almighty
god
my Creator hopeing by the merits of Jesus Christ my redeemer to be one of the Elect att the
last Day when all flesh shall give an account and my body to be buried in the parish Church
of
Torpenhow And for my worldly goods wherewith god has endowed me I give and bequeath
as followeth First I give and bequeath unto the poore of ye (the) p[ar]ish of Torpenhow

Shillings to be lett out for interest att the best advantage for that & so to be Distributed to
the
most needfull within the said p[ar]ish yearly who is not maintained p[a]rticularly by the Said
p[ar]ish att the descreshon of Bernard Robinson vicar of the Said p[ar]ish John Moore of
Huergates my Sonne John Williamson and John Featam of Torpenhow aforsaid
Item I give and bequeath to William Clemetson my nephew and Mary Clemetson my Neece
each of them twenty shillings to be payed for their use to John Williamson my Sonne within
one yeare after my decease to be putt forward for their best advantage untill they attaine
the
Age of one and twenty years p[ar]ticularly, Item I give and bequeath to my Sonne John
Williamson one Cubboard and a table and frame standing in my Mansion house att
Snitlegarth aforesaid and the two formes or Skambles thereto belonging one table and
frame
and two formes thereto belonging Standing in the Chamber over the Hall two great chists in
the Chamber over the parlour one frame and table in the kitchin and one fourth part of all
my
sheepe to be equally divided and all the lose wood and boards about my house Item I give
and bequeath unto William Williamson my grandchild one Copphorned heffer that is
fotherred (foddered/fed) att the parke and one Deske Item as for all the rest of my goods
Chattells mouvable and unmouvable my debts Creditts and funeral expences discharged I
give
and bequeath unto Elizabeth my now wife whom I make Sole executrix of this my last will
and testament As sett my hand & seale this twentyeth day of January in the yeare of our
Lord
god one thousand Six hundred seventy & one. 1671
